Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Back to Safety is a nervous system regulation app developed by Audrey de Jong, Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist at GGZ IJssel-Berkel. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains clearly what data we collect, how we handle it, and your rights as a user.
1. Data We Collect
Back to Safety is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Any data you create within the app, including journal entries and mood scores, is stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to the developer or any third party. Audio files used in the exercises are bundled directly within the app and are not streamed from external servers. No network connection is required to use any feature of the app.
2. No Account Required
Back to Safety does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or date of birth. You can use all features of the app anonymously.
3. Analytics and Tracking
We do not use any analytics tools, tracking technologies, cookies, or similar technologies within the app. We do not monitor your behavior, usage patterns, or interactions within Back to Safety.
4. Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not share any data with third parties. There are no advertising networks, data brokers, social media integrations, or analytics providers involved in the operation of this app.
5. GDPR Compliance
Back to Safety is committed to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable privacy law. Because we do not collect or process any personal data, most GDPR obligations do not apply to our processing activities. All data you generate in the app remains exclusively under your own control on your device.
6. Children
Back to Safety is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you are under 13, please do not use this app.
7. Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your own device settings and security measures. We recommend using a device passcode or biometric lock to protect access to your personal information.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in an updated version of the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
